They were hit unbelievably hard, and it will take a long time to put things right. I wonder if we're sending aid. I would assume so.

I am aware of at least one carriers helo, flying support. Various state line men in route. Airport is open but only military type aircraft allowed in for support. Aware of various entities gathering clothes, food, etc. for shipment!

There is ham radio communication with PR - I will check the net and see if they can handle health and welfare traffic at this time and check back with you. Also check the Red Cross site at: https://safeandwell.communityos.org/cms/index.php
They host a bulletin board for safe and well residents to register if they can get access.

For other hams on the forum, the Salvation Army Emergency Radio Net is passing outbound traffic on 14.265 and 14.275 MHz. Also nets on 7.188 and 3.185 MHz.

Amateur radio always shines and comes to the rescue during a disaster.
Hams will again work tirelessly to help those in need until normalcy is restored.
Few notice or give credit to the work that they do.

On behalf of myself and the other amateurs on this site, thank you for your kind remarks. Public service during emergencies is an intrinsic part of ham radio and has been since the beginning - it's one of the ways we justify the spectrum allocated to us.

Your welcome.
Never got my ticket but have been around it for 60+ years.
Got my FCC First Phone with Radar 50 years ago. Been an avid SWL for almost as many.

Meli Reyes Torre is a 911 operator and would be the easiest to find I would imagine. She had to be at the "emergency" center during the storm and not with her family.
If there are any RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service) operators on the net, I would guess they would be the best bet. I would ask for an exact address if (and allowed) needed.
Hope something works!

I am on the net on 14.265, but they re handling only outbound traffic. I am not hearing anything net-related on 40 or 80. The 20M net is suggesting satern.org or the Red Cross for inbound traffic. Will keep trying...

To all!
I'd like to thank all of the responders to these posts and for the assistance, monitoring of the emergency channels, etc, etc.
I can't thank you enough.

My friends (brother and sister from another mother) heard, not five minutes ago, that all were unhurt and well. They did lose their house (flood) but otherwise ok.

Thank you again!! 73s
