Why to Shoot RAW and Post Process

This is one of the most straightforward and simplest explanations I've seen describing the benefits of shoot raw and post processing. It is an absolute must if your goal is to maximize your creative vision. However, if you are only interested in snapping pix for memories and don't really care what your finished images look like, carry on, nothing to see here! 😇

good link mrjcall

I consider myself good to self teaching, and what defines most of my knowledge is the amount of time I used to try and fail and search for knowledge. Read and learn.
A lot of the knowledge often I get from experience and make my own opinions and I back them up with articles on the web. As most times a link or two appears on a subject I've been wondering about, and when I read them give me a good feeling about myself. No matter if I've been on the subject before, there will always be a fair amount of new useful information. Even I know well why I shoot raw and post process, I've still got some new key notes from this article as well.

So thank you again for posting
Catalin.

This is one of the most straightforward and simple... (show quote)

In an nice way.........BULL SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT. If you don't put your head, your heart and your eyes into the creative process befor you press the shutter, it won't matter what file you use. another thing, crap is crap weather it's raw crap or jpeg crap. I took this photo in Aruba, while I was on vacation.

Nice comment......Some folks just don't get it and some just don't want to get it. You would seem to fit in both categories.... 🙃

I don't judge people that I have never met, I posted a follow up to what I said, I Am not afaride to post my work. I judge a photo by what I see, I don't care who took it....The type of camera used, or how it was processed.
being creative has nothing to do with the type of camera used or the file it is taken in, if you think other wise...you know nothing about photography.

Not at all judging you, just your original comment.... If you understand raw format and post processing (which is what the article is about), why be so defensive? It's just a means to a creative end. Just saying....

The thing that pisses me off is people that say, you don't care about what you photograph or what the outcome is or will be unless you shoot raw. I have seen alot of photos taken both as a RAW file and others as a JPEG. you can have great results with any file, you can also have a load of crap in RAW or Jpeg. And as far of how much you care about photography, the file used has no bering on it. Every photo that I have posted on UHH has started as a JPEG file and has been processed on my computer.
