If I am reading this correctly then you need a FD to EOS Converter. Something like this http://goo.gl/oOyeL

The problem with FD to EF converters is due to the lens mount to film plane size difference they either have a correction lens which may degrade image quality or have no lens but can't focus to infinity.

Jeff, I also have a 600 FD. I use the Ed Mika glassless adapter. It is probably the only one that works w/o a glass element. The problem is that the Canon distance from sensor plane to lens body needs to be 44.5mm. As soon as you put anything between the camera body and the lens it essentially becomes an extension tube. You gain magnification but loose the infinity focus. The EdMika has no glass and the latest version is only .5mm thick(mine is .75mm and works well). This puts you within the tolerance inherent in the lens to keep infinity but sometimes still requires a small but simple tweak. But the Ed Mika is not cheap at about $150 + ship. I have never tried one of the adapters with glass. Rumor has it that you loose a lot of IQ. They are cheap enough though if you wanted to give one a go. Google Ed Mika. Let me know if I can give you further info.
