Lightroom Images to FB Question

When I post process in RAW and upload the images to the "picture" file on my computer and post them on FB the images are the same size on the screen as when I click on them. How can I change it to another size so they are larger than what is on the FB screen after I click on it?

First assure you've selected "high quality" when you upload the files. This setting is not presented until after you've selected one or many image files while Creating an Album. When you're prompted to name the album while the images are being uploaded, there's an option for "high quality".

Second, and probably more important to your question, assure you're creating files at the size needed to display larger when viewed full screen. In the LR Export dialog, specify 2048 pixels on the long side at 100% quality (see the File Setting and Image Sizing options in Export). When resizing, select Don't Enlarge.

This process assumes two steps: Export from LR. Then, upload to FB. If you're using an integrated link directly from LR to FB, you may be losing your ability to manually control the options and the results as described above.

FB, and most social tools will resize your image to their maximum. They will show the "thumbnail" and when you click it the largest size they allow. So, make sure you upload a size at least as large as the maximum.

Now, each resize of a jpeg will lose some quality, so I hear people say upload your highest resolution so there is only one resizing. It is FB, not sure it matters that much.

Facebook allows an image of up to 2048 px on the longest side. If you submit anything larger it will be resized to their max. If you are using a display with more than 1920 x 1280 resolution, you won't be able to see what you are hoping for. You are not likely to see much difference between 100% quality and 75%, and the 75% will load faster. if your original image is cropped to slightly smaller than 2048 on the longest side, like 1900 or so, it's ok to click enlarge. It will resample the image without loosing quality. I would not advise resampling an image that 1024 on the longest side, that would look awful.
