The jellyfish for which Chesapeake Bay is widely known in the summer is the Sea Nettle (Chrysaora quinquecirrha). Failed miserably trying to capture these guys the other day. Got lucky yesterday...sun was hitting the water just right. Was able to capture the MD blue crab as well. CC welcome.

Thank-you, ELNikkor! These creatures never cease to amaze me. I think they can "see," however. The images I shot a few days showed a clear bubble on the top of their "heads" off to one side (maybe I still have some of these photos), and they seemed to "know" where they were going, as in to the sea wall where they appeared to eat the growth.
Wonderful shots. You did well. Your patience and persistence was rewarded.
