Paperbark is the common name for Melaleuca quinquenervia. It is also called Teatree. These were taken near a beach, but they are also found well inland, usually close to water, such as a creek or a pond/lake. Downloading is recommended.

Excellent set, Earl. Did you lose your drone? I missed something somewhere.

Yes, Ken. Without going into details, it had a firmware malfunction, became unresponsive, RTH didn't activate, & it ended up in the river (drones don't float, unfortunately). Bad news, but no point complaining about it--what's done is done.

Earl.

There were huge stands of melaleuca trees in S. Fla. The local government went on an eradication program and I think successfully.
The thought was they were using too much precious water, especially on the edge of the Everglades. Plus we're on a 'native' kick. States are actually poisoning streams to get rid of the 'invasive' brown trout. Crazy.
Anyway there's another Australian import in S. Fla. The Casuarina, aka Australina Pine. Esthetics questionable but the wood is extremely tough. And they create a sirens song in the wind.
