Would you share your SmugMug Site link so I can see what you've done?

Thanks to Bob Mielke who gave me some sage advice-- he said, "Shutterfly is K-mart and SmugMug is Macy's" I made the upgrade and love it.

Wondering if a few would be willing to share your SmugMug Website link so I can see other "ideas" and creativity? Mine is a complete work in progress as I just set it up. One thing I am noticing is "Less is Better".

Also any other tips on setting it up for good presentation, flow, etc would really be appreciated. I would like to eventually set it up to sell some of my photos.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Several things from your post got my attention. First was the comparing of Shutterfly & Smugmug - sure go with what works for you but they are completly different operations aimed at different segments of the market. "Rookie" or not I see no reason be be cruel to anyone - all of you pictures to me have a very nice profossional look and style to them and I believe compare very nicely to many that I have seen for sell. As to the less is more comment - the reason that old adages surive for years there is more than a little truth in them. The trick is often one of degrees and personal perspective, some do not care for the more traditional, or not at all. Few think "I am going to do this to an excess", as in more then enough on purpose. As to the marketing of any product - I believe this is the area that is very much under stressed aspect by many. Photograrphy like many fields are flooded with products - to me the really tough part is how does one stand above or apart, how does one best present their product to the market place? What is your niche or hook? I have now reached my rambling stage and and in no way mean any of this as an attempt to discourage, or slight your work - mostly just a few things that I have thought about. Good luck to you.

Buddah--

Thanks for the reply. Wasn't trying to be cruel. My interpretation of Bobs original comment was simply, Kmart is more mass market vs a bit more upscale Macy's. I agree, it depends on what you are looking to do.

Should have been more careful with my comments. I like Shutterfly.

Thanks for the reply.

Jeff

No, no, and no -I did not take anything as being cruel or mean spirted. My comment about not being cruel was intended as a remark towards your "Open for critiqre - please be nice, I'm a rookie". As in I would not wish to be cruel regardless if you think yourself a rookie or not. I took no offense in regard to the worth or not of Shutterfly - it' a semi-free county where such choices can be made as of today's date.

Understand I use my smugmug site as a dumping ground not as a display site. I use my Tumble site more for just display of a wide spectrum of photography subjects. These are my best photos in many categories.

i keep most of my best shots on my Smugmug site, and use it both a display site and as an 'electronic portfolio' which i use when i want to give gallery or shop owners an idea of what i do, before they commit to exhibiting my work.

http://www.kjgregorsphotography.com it needs some updating (photos added)....

I also use shutterfly for websites for my customers to order more of the prints they want, its a complimentary thing, and no I am not set up to earn any money from their sales...

Each customer gets a website made by me of their photo shoot and then I add to it as they have more shoots..
