I carry a small over the shoulder bag that accommodates two lenses. Very light and easy to carry

I carry my extra lens in my shoulder pack in its case. I only take one extra lens so this is pretty easy. When in transit I keep them in a camera bag but don't want to lug two bags around all day when I'm shooting. This seems to work for me.

I don't. My 18-200 seems to satisfy most of my needs.

In a vest. The vest can hold a couple of lens, extra batteries, extra memory cards, lens wipes and other small items as needed.

Oh, I agree with you, there, Shelty ...

An 18-200 seems to cover most situations ....

I have several ... but I also have both an 18-250, and an 18-270 (different mounts)

Plus - several 70-300s ....

In fact, two of my cameras only have 16-135 lenses on them - and I've never had to remove either ...

Don ... very practical ....

However, I don't see me wandering through the woods, on the mountains, with a 70-300 stuck in a pocket ....

My absolute preference in camera bags, is a shoulder bag ...

I've looked at many backpacks ... most seem to use an illogical setup for storing lenses - laying on the side ...

Suppose you're halfway up a mountain, and want to change lenses ...

Unzip the thing, and they all slide out at once ... doesn't seem very safe to me ...

Yes, Jay, I guess it would be ...

For me - with an AP-Z on the camera, I also usually take a minimum complement of additional lenses ...

A UWA-Z, a Macro, and a Tele-Zoom ...

That seems to do it, for me ... a shoulder bag with 2-3 lens pockets seems to do the trick ...
