Happy to say I, my family and circle of friends are all safe.
Irma began to weaken as she made landfall, by the time she arrived here on the Gulf coast north of Saint Petersburg, she was a Category 2.
All of our homes are safe. I am the only one left in the family without electricity or my land-line phone. That probably means that I don't have cable or internet either, but without electric that doesn't matter. I am now at my mothers home catching up on emails, charging cell phone and laptop batteries and relocating food from my freezer to hers. Duke Energy says they are still investigating the situation before they can make repairs.
Thanks to all that offered kind thoughts.
Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery from the storm.

Thank you very much Dixiegirl. We are all safe, probably two days away from having electricity back.

Thank you very much birdman.
Glad to say that I really don't have any repairs to make - some small branches from the trees but that's it. Worst problem is the food left in my refrigerator all needs to be thrown out and replaced. I had just made my monthly shopping trip to the commissary at MacDill AFB. I buy about a months worth of meat and frozen goods, about half of that is in my daughters freezer, the rest at my mothers. I'd rather give it away than throw it away. Looks like I am about two days away from getting power back.
I am grateful that the situation was not worse.
