I am having a hard time coming up with a fair selling price for this lens. I have looked on ebay, KEH, and several other sites to no avail. I would appreciate the advice of my fellow Hoggers. The lens is in mint condition. It comes with the standard hood, original box and lens filter. Thanks!

B&H has it listed at $419 used. They offer a return policy. You'd probably have to price at $350 and provide free shipping to generate interest via a private sale.

It costs around $525 new, there have been a fairly large amount of these lenses made in the past 8 years, it's only a DX lens, it's not particularly well made in China and there are better lenses of similar focal length that cost less new. If you could find a buyer it's probably worth around $400.

A quick search of eBay sold listings shows that lens going for $260 & up in used condition...

On eBay you have to look up the completed sales and you can type in your type of lens and it will come up with what amount that lens has been being sold over a certain time period. That would be an excellent starting point for you!

I have done that exactly and have come up with a range of prices from $250 to $400. That is my problem. The fact that it is in mint condition doesn't seem to concern those of you who responded. Though I do appreciate the responses.

From $250 to $400 ? Mint condition ? $325 would be a good price for a fast sell . Don't pay for shipping , let the buyer do so . Remember there are a lot of excellent third party macro lens within that focal lenght with great used prices . Tamron 90mm , sigma 70mm and 105mm . Comprtition is stiff .

I gave you a value of $400 because you said it is in mint condition. You may think it is worth more but it is not a particularly good lens and it is overpriced new by Nikon. The lower priced Tokina 100 2.8 is a superior lens in every way, except maybe VR. Just because your lens says Nikon on it doesn't make it worth more. It is still a mediocre used lens.
