I like the composition, ther basic simplicity and the grey background, and great technically, I really like the fine detail.

Spot on,dsturr! I'm always attracted to past prime plants presented beautifully and artistically. A beautiful flower can speak for itself; one that is aged or flawed shown beautifully speaks for the artist. I could probably say the same for subjects other than flowers.

Not unlike abandoned structures or cars, we photographers seem to be drawn on the things that are a bit past their prime. It is a good image and a nice composition. Lots of care was taken with the details of focus, dof, and exposure. I like it; and I think it is very nicely presented.
