Meaningful Topic Titles

Today's digest brought this to mind. There are going to be a slew of topics about the new D-850. So perhaps a little detail in the title might be appropriate:

Example:
D850- Gray Market available now
D850-Image examples
D850- DxO review

Just sayin'

This practice is one we should apply to all of our posts. I appreciate a bit of humor, but using the title "A Behind-the-Scenes View of A Religious Ritual" to draw Hoggers to a shot of a pooping Cardinal (the one with feathers) only wastes the time of non-birders.

And when we're asking for information, including the brand would be a nice courtesy. "Looking for Settings Recommendation" tells members nothing; "Looking for Settings Recommendation - Sony A6500" would filter out the responses that begin, "l shoot with a Brownie Hawkeye, but I've learned that if I stand on one leg and squint real hard..."

I love this site and its members, but I get really frustrated with titles that drag me down a blind alley.

It seems many titles are just trolling. I appreciate the good descriptive titles, but realize there are few english major photographers or camera owners.

Good luck with this recommendation. Plenty of folks tried it w/o success but it is good to vent, so go ahead.

I have stopped venting. Now I just report and from time to time make a snide remark.

Why the BUSTED? He did specify there are a few, not there are none. That would make you one of the few.

I wrote professionally, for two different magazines, for six years.

Maybe I'll revert to that and correct grammar and spelling also.

I was an English minor, a long time ago. Does that count?
