Adobe DNG Converter Strange Behavior

I need help with my DNG Converter. Yesterday after visiting the Queens Zoo I opened my DNG Converter to convert my Panasonic Lumix RW2 files into the non proprietary DNG files so I could process them in Lightroom. I've done this many times previously with no problem. But this time when I specified the source directory where I copied all my RW2 files, DNG Converter did not recognize any of the RW2 files. Rebooting my Windows 10 desktop a couple of times didn't help. I tried specifying the card reader as the source folder but DNG Converter still did not recognize any of the RW2 files. I also noticed that DNG Converter now does not even recognize all the other RW2 files in other folders on the same card. And on another card where I have RW2 as well as ORF(Olympus Raw File) files, DNG does not see any of them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Reload the program, it may be corrupted.

If you can connect your camera directly to the computer, see if that works. If it does, it's more likely the issue with your card reader.

Bob - I can preview all my JPEG's & ORF from my card reader. File Explorer shows my RW2 files but there is no preview.

Blue-ultra - BTW I already reinstalled DNG converter and rebooted PC but still the same issue. I'll try on another PC and see what happens. Thanks for the responses.

Guess what? I just installed Adobe DNG Converter on another Windows 10 desktop & rebooted. Same problem. File Explorer sees all the files but DNG Converter does not see any RAW files from both SD cards!

Can you use File Explorer on Windows and "open with" the files specifying your DNG program?

If DNG formerly recognised those RAW files, then it might have been updated by Adobe or it has become corrupted. That the current install does not recognise them implies a DNG version change. Compare the old and new version numbers in 'get info.' Also, DNG menu bar has an option that lets you set the version as I recall. Hunt around for it.
The 'raw problem' arises from, unlike JPEG, TIFF, etc, there is no standard file format for raw.

I had this happen once ... it turned out to be a "DUH" moment. Instead of selecting the source folder I was opening it.

Dobe is very smart and we take what we get. Last July I bought a new laptop and loaded my CS6 with DNG. Few weeks later no dng. Had to down load again on the lap. 5 months ago needed to buy a new pc, with Windows 7 Pro. DNG does not work for my old files that worked before. Have to use Canon to open files from mark V and all the old files from Mark II and III. Seems the old way you stay current is with the CLOUD from Dobe. DNG from Dobe means Does Not Go. Oh, you can get a special price on Datacolor Spyder and 90 day free cloud on Dobe.

Thank you everyone for all the useful info. As I mentioned earlier I verified that the card reader works properly and File Explorer shows all my files although the RW2 files are only shown as icons, not as images.
DNG Converter is working fine. What happened was when I specified the source folder DNG Converter did not list the RAW files in that folder which led me to believe that DNG Converter did not recognize those files. In fact DNG Converter did see the files but for some reason did not list them. Pressing the "convert" icon DNG Converter the starts the conversion process and also shows the RAW files as they're being converted.

I reason I got a bit worried is because as I recall in the previous times I've used DNG Converter it ALWAYS showed all the files in the source folder. This instance it did not but it did not affect the conversion process. Anyone have a similar experience?

Thank you very much to everyone for all the tips and info.

I didn't remember so I just ran the program. The list of files only came up after I clicked on convert.
