A look at the moon through all the smoke from the forest fires. This was taken from home in Bothell, Wa. (North of Seattle). The fires are on the other side of the Cascade Mountain Range 60 plus miles away.
Likewise here in Merlin, Southern Oregon, too many smokey nights.
And a smokey dawn a few days ago. (Taken on September 4th at 07:15.)

Wow! That's extreme. I've heard this is the worst year on record for forest fires in the USA.

Well we have only been living here in Merlin, OR, for five years but locals say this year is at least as bad as 2002's Biscuit (as it was named) fires and possibly worse.

There's really no way to prevent the fires and no simple way to extinguish them. It's Nature running wild.
