For throwaway use, I use Staples glossy photo. For keepers/framers, I most often use Epson Pro Glossy 4*. I might use lustre, or matte, or canvas, or velvet, all depending on the job.

I usually match the paper maker with the printer maker, both matte and glossy. For run of the mill stuff, I use Staples.

For some reason I keep going back to the matte or satin papers! there are no real answers here, but I do agree with jerry, if you can afford to stay with printer maker papers for the keepers

I use Epson for most of the printing. I have recently tried Canson they make some nice paper. I also have used Ilford pearl and glossy with great results. Love my black and whites on Epson enhanced matte. gives them the old time feel.

Epson Premium Luster and Ilford Gold Fibre Silk are favorites on an Epson 3880.

Costco Kirkland Glossy Paper, 150 sheets runs about $18.00 plus tax. I've been using it ever since they started carrying photo paper, and love it.

Good and cheap. Some say that some Costco stores carry a semi-gloss or satin, would like to pick some up if I could find it. Also some say that it's made by Epson , which makes sense since most Costcos use Epson printers. But this is all hear-say, don't know for fact.

I've been using Kodak Premium Gloss for several years, but as Kodak switches to bankruptcy, I'm switching to Inkpress. I like it as much as Kodak, and the brightness index is a bit higher, and I like that, too. I also like the Ilford Gallerie Gloss paper. Don't care too much for matte or semi-matte.

Ilford, with a preference toward pearl finishes for final prints.
Kodak or cheapest for testing.

HP Advanced and Premium Plus (have HP printer). Viera Ink.
Advanced - cheaper for proofing. Fades.
Premium plus - finished product. For archival.
Office Max has Hp papers on sale 2 for 1 constantly.

I have been using www.photopaperdirect.com, A3 paper for a couple of years now. Great quality and cheaper than others.

Log on to Redriverpaper.com. I have an Epson R3000 and tried most of the papers out there. I settled on Red River for quality....They have a sample pack to try...

Boy, Captain, you just "beat me to the draw"! I also own an Epson 3880 and Premium Luster and Ilford Gold Fiber Silk are both super papers for starters. But as far as I am concern, I have gravitated to the Epson Exhibition Fiber Paper. Download the ICC profile "EPSON 3880 SP EFP PK 2880 v1.icc from epson and use this icc profile for printing on the 3880 and the results will be simply stunning!
