Wasn't Harvey a once in 50 years event. Seems like they might be a fortnightly one. Fingers crossed for those in its path, and may their God look after them.

I am in Miami--waiting.
Concerned that with even with shutters, most dwellings--my residence-will not survive sustained winds of 185mph.
And then the flooding that follows.

You can only do what you can to protect your property and leave the rest to God. If you are in a block house in a non-evac zone, shore up and stay put. Otherwise shore up and leave. I am in the process of deciding what I can't possible live without (that is what happens when you sink your savings into a mobile home), while praying for a track shift to shove her out to sea. All I can say about what I am taking is that my pets have priority seating in the SUV. I won't leave them behind.

You can't protect yourself the best you can do is get away from it but with as many people as they have in S. Florida they can't get out. I lived in S. Florida for 21 years and lost one house due to a hurricane. I'm glad I retired a little further north.

This is already old info. We are keeping an eye on it here on Florida.

Stay safe and keep us in the loop. Battening down the hatches here in Central Florida.

Glad to see that you are giving your pets priority, saw video of people in Houston tying their dogs to trees and leaving for a safer place. Broke my heart to see that. Our prayers are for everyone in south Florida, hope this thing fizzles out or turns out to sea. May God be with you.

Just curious, then why didn't you leave? I used to live in Florida and there is no way I would even stay in Orlando during a Class V

It is OK, the mighty trump says that Global Warming is not real.
So.
The wet, draughty thing is not really there.

(My thoughts are with all those affected, it is regularly windy where I live, so I do have an idea of what it is like.)
