I grew up in western Oregon and after many summers here, this is the smokiest I have seen. The fire has even jumped the Columbia river. It seems the last fire was caused by an idiot with fireworks.

I live in Monroe, Washington. It is the same here. I have never before seen a red sun in the sky at noon. There's ash on our cars and the smell of smoke everywhere.

Hard to believe. And now the Portland water source is upon threat from the fire. Your photos certainly convey the situation in Portland very well.

Your images demonstrate what we are dealing with here in Montana. Would have never thought Portland would be like that. Like it was said earlier, what an idiot who started the Gorge fire.

Thanks all for your replies. The person said to cause the Eagle Creek fire was a 15 year old boy. I just hope he learns what he should from this.
