LEXAR will survive

Lexar has been purchased from Micron Industries by Chinese manufacturer Longsys. There is little doubt that Lexars quality will continue as Longsys has actually manufactured many of Lexars products for Micron for several years now. Still no word as to who or how old Lexar lifetime warranties will be handled.

From the press release:

Longsys, a world leader in consumer flash storage, today announced that it has acquired the Lexar trademark and branding rights from Micron Technology, Inc. The Lexar brand has long been recognized as a leading brand for high-performance, high-reliability removable storage solutions for a wide variety of applications, such as the professional photography market. This acquisition provides assurance to existing Lexar customers that the solutions and support they have come to expect from Lexar branded products will continue to be available. Additionally, the market reach and product breadth provided by Longsys promises to expand the Lexar customer experience into new market segments and geographies.

That's good to know. I just purchased another Lexar XQD and SD card because I thought they might be going away.

Do you remember when Micron made computers? They were very good. I got one in '98 and another in 2000.

From the press release it sounds like it is likely they will honor the lifetime warranties.

Are you the one who's been snooping around my house at 3:00 AM? Those Microns have long since vanished. Now I'm down to only about eight working models. I keep the others for parts. I have two homemade, two Dell desktops, two Mac desktops and a Mac notebook, and a Dell notebook. I really don't know why I have so many, but I'm sure a psychology department of a university would love to study me.

I also have fifteen ukuleles, and half a dozen harmonicas. Since I started driving in 1960, I've had thirty-five cars, usually five at a time. Now, thankfully, there are only two Honda Fits in the family. Let's not even get started talking about cameras and boats. Somehow, my wife learned how to tolerate me for forty-six years.

I love it. Nothing wrong with any of that. We should enjoy life by doing the things that we want to do.

Jerry - Homebrews are NG anymore - for Net use anyway. MS advised they will not be supporting them, anymore - instantly causing me to have to phase out my dozen or so, and buy some with the OS pre-installed .... and, since doing so ... I, too - have expanded ... current count is five - 4 desktops and a laptop ... you always want to keep ahead of the hackers - faster speeds will help, but - the most important way is to find ones with all the security measures built-in .... and, then - there's USB 3 ... and, so on ... and - NO - I don't need a psychologist, thanks ...

You need to use feminine hygiene products when you write posts.

You have a period problem.

Pegasus - I gather you have a problem with my rather profuse use of the ellipsis (series of dots - used to denote pause) in this comment. I find its utilization to be rather useful in comments of this type. Whilst I do delight in its use, and found it to be more than useful, here - I do take exception to your return comment. I feel it has NO PLACE in a forum of this type. Having said that, I do admit it's rather amusing. That said, it shall be reported to the Administration.

The comment by Pegasus is way out of line but your usage of dashes and ellipses is excessive. The sentences are not cohesive.

CO - I do realize that, looking back on it. Sometimes, when I comment, I use the established norm when I answer e-mail. It works, properly, in that venue, but, I do see it is not an appropriate usage, here. I shall attempt to reign in on future commentary. Thanks. Also, I do appreciate the support sentiment. Thanks, Co ....

Co - on further reflection "the sentences are not cohesive" - I do take exception to that. There is a lack of sentence structure - which is because of the use of the ellipses ... but, as far as the "thoughts" lacking cohesion - I don't agree with that, at all. Read it again. ... It's about home-made computers, and the ruling Microsoft made about support of home-loaded OS packages - that they won't support them, anymore. I don't see that - AT ALL!
