Cleaning SD card slot.

I had ERR message on my camera when I inserted this SD card (on the picture), I cleaned contacts and after that no ERR message. I think that I am supposed to clean card slots in my camera and card reader. I need advice about SD card slot cleaning kit. Where and which can I buy it?

I use the eraser on a good quality pencil and then wipe it clean with my lens brush. Works for me.

I would use a good quality contact cleaner and avoid the eraser which can abrade the thin gold plating and leave residue and eraser particles on the contacts.

I use the contact cleaner after the eraser. No problems after this process for over 5 years now.

You could probably use sensor cleaning fluid, like the Eclipse brand. Maybe one of the used swabs? Or a Q-Tip?

You are talking about cleaning SD card but I am asking about cleaning card slot.

Maybe. But I am looking for special kit for cleaning SD card slot. I found it on GB Amazon site. I think that shipping from GB will be expansive.

No, I am talking about any gold plated contacts, whether they are the socket (female) or the pins (male). Now how you access the contacts to clean them is a different question (and can be difficult without disassembly), but the cleaning material is the same.

I use the USB transfer cable so have no experience with any slot cleaners, but they all look like they should work OK. Good luck.

This is another reason why I don't keep my cameras very long - no maintenance required.
