Just wondering. Is anyone shooting with an Olympus OM-D? Even though I had Nikon gear, I thought long-and-hard about the OM-4 when it came out in the 80s. I lamented (then) that Nikon chose to put a Matrix Meter in their FA that same year instead of a multi-spot meter like the OM-4. Now, everybody has some sort of "Matrix" metering and multi-spot is pretty much extinct, I believe. But I just saw a mirrorless OM-D and it looks pretty sweet.

Been shooting Oly (+ drinking it) since the 70's. Oly digital since the Pro E1 in 2003. Just bought another E-M1 2 days ago!

INSIST only Olympus colonoscope up my ass for Colonoscopy. Last one no polyps.

Olympus the most innovative camera company since the 70's, alongside Fujifilm.

Ahem......

Didn't you forget to mention a certain company that owns majority stock in Olympus and has partnered with them for YEARS?

I don't think I am going to buy one but I like the Pen F very much. I stayed with Nikon in the 80's with the F3. I thought about getting the Pentax LX or Olympus OM-4. Today I am glad I didn't replace my F3 with either the OM-4 or the Pentax LX.

Have been using an omd em1 for sometime and sold all my Nikon equipment as I have been very happy with the results with only the loss of weight to carry around

Started using the pen f version as a high end point shoot many years ago and gradually move up

Have never regretted that decision

Everyone has their own guideline and opinions so you may get lots of proms and cons as there isn't a perfect camera

I have been shooting Olympus OM-D for 3 years, and it is sweet. It's compact, it's light weight, it offers all the functions I need and then some, great variety of lenses available for micro 4/3 mount. I certainly don't regret my decision to "downsize".

Attached are a couple of recent shots.

I bought the Olympus EM-1 Mark ll about 3 or 4 months ago, I still shoot my Nikon D 750 for some situations, mostly low light. As long as I work within the limitations of the Olympus, no good at high ISO and low light, I have been mostly happy with it. The continuous auto focus still needs some work, but I am learning how to deal with that. I wanted something lightweight over the D-750 and a Tamron 150-600 lens and the Olympus EM-1 Mark ll and the Panasonic 100-400 is a good replacement combo for my wildlife shooting.

There many Olympus users on the site, I am one of them.
I currently own an EM10 and an EPL-5, in my opinion they are lovely cameras and produce very high quality images.
The Nikon/Canon clan would not agree of course but those cameras are very good DSLR's, their main drawback is large size and heavy weight.

And then we got The Matrix movies series.

I used to like the spot meter on my old Miranda Sensorex.

Bought the original OM-1 back in the seventies and used it for years. When digital came along finally bought a Nikon D 50 and used it until a few months ago when I bought an Olympus OM D E-M1 Mark II... and I wonder why I ever left Olympus. Call me odd, but the ergonomics and set (including the menu) up just work for me ... did then and do now. I have to work around the low light limitations and I never print larger than low twenties by high teens, so it just works and the Oly/ Pan/Leica lens are top notch.

My primary camera is a Nikon D810 and I have a bag full of lenses, mostly primes. My wife is now using an E-M5mark2 and she has a good arsenal of glass. She suggested that I try out the m4/3 system so I bought the last E-M1 in town. I am generally very pleased with it and use it for more "casual" work. The IQ is excellent and I like the live histogram. Olympus Pro lenses are top notch.

I have several Olys 4/3. E-330 (my 1st digital odd but took nice pics) E-5 Great camera but in my 60's was getting kind of heavy when battery grip plus large lens, flash etc added. Oly stopped making them hard to find now. Then came mirrorless. Now have OMD E-M5 MARKII. Love it! Small, light weight, weather proof, packed with options/settings just plane fun learning to use it. Have several pro lenses also weather proof and lens adapter lets me use all my older lenses even my old minoltas. If you go for one suggest you get the extra battery/grip combo as the camera is kind of small even compared to the E5 4/3 that is a third smaller at least than full frame cameras.

Yes, and I still have Nikon gear which I also shoot regularly. I bought the OM-D E M5 MkII last year when I wanted something a little smaller and lighter for travel. I pair this with a 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro lens and I am very satisfied with IQ and overall performance. Olympus sells these bodies and their lenses at great prices if you will considered purchasing refurbished.
