It is very rare that I do this sort of shot, it is documentary rather than 'street'. Many people pass by and think these people have been heading towards this destination from birth and in a lot of cases this is true. They think “Why should I put my hand in my pocket for someone's next bottle or someone's next fix” but this isn't true for all down and nearly outs. Some are good people that life has handed a number of raw deals to in quick succession. They have just become overwhelmed and couldn't find a way out. Those are the ones that will try to seek out the right sort of help and fight their way back without ever giving up. But I will admit that when you are walking down the street it is hard to tell the difference.
