a few month ago I posted about bad manners of people t public events. yesterday was another example. t an air show most of the people stood us to watch ground battle. it was followed by a performance by the blue angles. the people continued to stand. the people on scooters and in wheel chairs were S.O.L. most of the people standing, were standing in front of their chairs. go figure.

If you're trying to tell us that people are awful, we already know.

The only way to make a difference is to get the local media involved in an education campaign both now and before the next air show.

Complaints on this forum won't help anyone on the ground at the air show. This audience is way too small.

Venues like that should have a section for folks in wheel chairs.

It only takes a few people to stand up that naturally causes everyone else to stand. Frank Sinatra's people used that instinct in people to get audiences to give standing ovations. People carefully placed (some paid) at political events serve the same purpose. Even otherwise polite people tend to follow the crowd.

I am with you on this . I rate selfish behaviour as rude as well. Find it sickening

I have failed to see the need at NASCAR events.....................WHY do people have the need to stand when the race starts??? When there is a crash or spin-out..............Can they REALLY see better???? Torques me off. I remain seated.

In the UK Premiership football league its a rule that all the crowd remain seated. There are sanctions for the clubs that do not enforce this . At certain teams the crowds ignore this and they stand . Nothing has been done about it

Won't tolerate rude behavior in a man.............well, *I* won't tolerate it in a woman either. Neither sex should be exempt!!!!!!!!!!! But, then again, I am old and waaaay out of the loop, I guess.

Has anyone ever heard a request at a NASCAR event for people to remain seated? Any televised event. The cameras panning the crowd while the announcer yells "Everybody is out of their seat" ads excitement for those watching at home. Otherwise it would look like a tennis match. More excitement, even contrived, means more money.

I hate going to live events.

That is a quote from "Lonesone Dove". Tommy Lee Jones as Woodrow F. Call. Watch it on You Tube. It is great.

I have found in the past that there are both polite and self centered people in this world. I'll give you one recent example: I visited an event being held in a park July 4. Being old and decrepit and can hardly walk, I had to use my scooter in order to get around. Being a real light scooter, I was in the process of getting it out of my car. Along came a gentleman, and he lifted it out for me. When I was sitting at a bench eating lunch and enjoying the music, I got up, leaving several of my things where I was sitting, to deposit my trash in a nearby can. When I returned, a woman and her husband had taken my place and refused give it up to me. Later, when I was in the process of loading my scooter back in my car, another gentleman came along and loaded it for me.
In all of my years, I have found that most people are polite and helpful, and that there are a few people out there who think only of themselves.

It just takes one to stand. The rest will follow.
