I don't know who these new posters think they are talking to. This is the only post the OP ever started, and he left in 2018. There have been numerous recent discussions about shooting the eclipse, so I can't see the need to drag up one from 7 years ago.
Yeah this post is from 2017! What the hell?
All this silly crap about a post from someone who left a long time ago... jeez. We've been had!
Actually, we have all been had. I will just attribute my addition because I thought I could help someone. It’s not that I’m a fantastic photographer. I’m not! I’m an ordinary Hogger who has learned from many and improved one of my many crafts.
I hope no one feels slighted by this. This thread shows our overall good nature and concern with someone new to the forum!
Dear Mr. Burkholder:
Thanks for the smiley faces and thumbs up. I am not a very social media person and probably considered to be anti-social.
I have often noticed some in this forum to have sinister natures in part because of the anonymity with social media. But, that is my belief and not based upon factual data.
As a photographer, I try to offer my best opinion when answering. As a pharmacist, my ability to communicate with others is based upon 35 years of being upfront and formal with all. A person who has used an old thread could not have much to offer all of us in the forum.
As for someone with a negative machination of photography, I shall place them on my ignore list.
Photographically yours,
Steven “Scruples” Gewirtz

Dear Mr. Burkholder: br Thanks for the smiley face... (

The confusion that occurs when someone adds a comment to a seven year old post is insane, but understandable. It comes up as a NEW post to anyone who hasn't been part of the past conversation. So you answered the original poster, when the new question was posed by the last guy before your post. You had no way of knowing that. Then we all got bamboozled. The silly joke's on all of us.
Moral of the story is, don't dredge up an old post. Start a new one. Otherwise, you won't get what you came for. I've seen this before, but there is no way to know it (other than looking at the Original Poster's posting date), if you weren't part of the first string of responses.
