We've had some strange light due to smog from recent wildfires in the state. While today wasn't very clear, the morning light was a bit pink and rather interesting.
I was on a mission to use the available early light and experiment with enhancing it. In addition, I played with a few of the images to push sharpness in an attempt to create more of the look of an etching or lithograph. I may have succeeded (or failed) with getting too much noise. It was a learning experience if nothing else.
Lovely series! Each image has a unique atmosphere. I love how the light moves around in the different scenes.
Number 2 is an excellent composition. The road forms a leading line. The road and the person are placed according to the rule of thirds. Totally white skies should be eliminated from photos.
Great light in the photo of the cattails in the field.
No. 2 really resonates with me Vicki.

What a magical ambience with off-colored light. I'm heartened you're trying for an etching "look" - it's one of my favorite art forms.

Thanks for taking time to provide valuable input. I appreciate it.
I agree about totally white skies up to a point. In this case, that's what I was given, and yes, I could have (should have?) cropped it out. Some of my favorite artists like James Bama and Robert Bateman have used "featureless" (white or almost white) skies in some of their paintings, so one has to wonder when it's appropriate - food for thought anyway.

Thank you Pierre. I think there's a story in that shot, the demeanor of the hiker and the subdued colors give it kind of an introspective feel. She looks like she's is dealing with a concern or is, perhaps, on some kind of spiritual journey.

I don't have a lot of filters (or maybe I do and haven't discovered them yet
), but I have had fun playing and pushing the limits of some of the editing tools. I'm glad you enjoyed these Bob and appreciate your thoughtful reply. Thanks so much.

We've had very "pink" mornings with all of the smoke in the air from a combination of weather systems and wildfires. The light has changed the look of many things and was fun to enhance. I'm glad you liked these Sylvia. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Photographers talk about the "golden hours," but I would add the "pink" hours to the list. Until the smoke "filter" dissipates, we will continue to have a lot of smog and this unusual light. I feel sorry for people with breathing problems.
Thanks for looking in Donna. I'm glad you appreciated the different look.
