How do you all store and keep track of your empty/full SD cards? Thanks in advance.
My partially full/partially empty SD card is stored in my camera, my completely empty (spare) is in my camera bag. I do not believe in physical storage on premise where moth doth corrupt and fires and flooding can happen w/o notice. As soon as possible, I upload all my image files to my Laptop and sync them to the µ-soft cloud. I know that µ-soft maintains multiple copies of all data so it is far more likely that copies will continue to exist after I have deleted them than it is for those copies to be lost. Plus, with my images in the cloud, they are instantly available on my phone and my tablet, plus they are available to me on any connected computer in the world.
Plus, when I die, my kids will not have to grieve about what to do with that box of ...stuff! 90 days after my annual subscription runs out, they will cease to be available, and a year later, they will quietly disappear.
I have two SD card holder one for cards with photos and the other with bran new cards.

My digital cameras have convenient slots right in the battery compartment. Full or empty, there my cards remain.

I upload my photos to the computer when I'm done shooting for the day then format the card(s). I do not store photos on the cards.

When on vacation and traveling with multiple spare SD cards, I keep them in their plastic cases within an Altoids tin. If I fill up a card and replace it with a blank card, I put the full card into one of the plastic cases with a little piece of paper. Any card case with a piece of paper is easily discerned from blank cards.

I use a Pelican water proof SD card box available at Best Buy and other places! It is static surpressed foam, holds 12 SD cards, 12 mini cards and 6 CF cards! I have 6 SD cards for two cameras, I place Formatted empty cards on one side and as I fill or use cards, I move them to the other side! It's Pelican brand so you know they are good!

You can double the storage box's capacity by putting empty cards label up, used cards label down. You also won't mistake which side has the used cards, wasting time by grabbing a used card.
Number all SD cards and keep a logbook with important information about each card - a description of what's on it, when it was last formatted, in which camera it was formatted, if the card ever failed, etc. Whatever information you think could be of use.
Is there a way to set the camera to continue the numbering from the previous card to the new card?

All of my SD cards are empty unless I am just returning from a shoot. If I am on a trip, I have my laptop and internet access so I upload the cards to Lightroom (the database is on my WD USB external drive) and then copy the raw files to my WD Cloud back home. Once that is accomplished and verified, I can then put the card back into the camera and format it. I travel with 6 32 gb sd cards and 2 64gb cards. I start with the 2 64gb cards in the camera and then switch to the 32 if necessary. I NEVER leave images on the cards once I return to the office or to the hotel room, all are uploaded to the system for safe keeping. The system is automatically backed up daily so it is the safest place for my archives.

For most cameras ... yes. See your owners manual or browse through your camera's menu until you find it.

Since all my cameras have a different combinations of cards I have one of these for each camera.
