This is a spider or Pompilid wasp in the order Hymenoptera, family Pompilidae. They are usually moving in search of spiders to sting and carry to their nest for the young. They are indeed hard to photograph. Catching them, refrigerating for a few hours and placing them back in their native habitat and photographing the wasp just as it spreads it legs and antennae will let you get close and focus properly. A dissecting needle to help position the legs as it warms up helps.
Some are large enough to kill and move tarantulas to their nest.
