Peterff what is your problem? It is a very good question to ask.
Hi Quinn I have for some time stopped replying to Peter. I learn a lot from novice/hobbiest. photographers. There are so many creative people taking pictures that don't do it for money but the love of expressing their creative urges.

Yes, and I question why you ask. There is nothing at all wrong with creative urges, or learning, but open ended questions such as this seldom create much value. I know you don't respond to me for multiple reasons. Some are that you have no informed answers to the questions that I ask. Sometimes it is because I challenge you on statements that are factually incorrect, but you seem to think that they are justified because in your estimation "it helps understanding". Incorrect, or over simplified answers help nobody.
I am asking you why this question is not simply a waste of time and bandwidth, since it has no focus.
If you can clarify, all to the good, but the question's lack of focus seems similar to asking the question: "Why have you stopped beating your wife?"
Perhaps you would be gracious enough to answer that one for me!

I guess I'm not the first who was prompted to get into photography when I viewed some great photos and thought that I would like to be able to produce that quality of work. (I'm still trying)
That is actually a reason I had in my mind but could not quite put it in to words as I listed other reasons. A good answer, imho. Thanks.
Really? There are no un-processed photos.

Sure there are, you just haven't seen them yet.

Because I see things differently than you do. And, its easier than painting.

Seems like you just answered it.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. My wife is used to my screeching to a halt, announcing "there's a picture begging to be taken". After recording it with my camera, I download it, with no further processing, and make use of it, whatever that means under the circumstances.

Further is the key word here.

Just because you are not altering a shot after it has been taken doesn't mean it is un-processed. If you are shooting jpeg then the camera is processing the photo based on either the factory settings or your own custom settings. If shooting RAW then post-processing is required. That photo you took may have been Straight Out Of Camera, but it was processed by the camera.

I take pictures so I can fill my hard drives. Then when someone asks for a certain picture, I can't find it. Then I get aggravated and go shoot it again. Then by that time the person no longer needs the picture, which just happened to be on my desktop and I didnt notice it. Thats why I take pix.
Or because some bride is going to pay me money. ( yea)
