Just got an email today that there will be a D850 in-store launch event tomorrow at Pro Photo Supply in Portland. 3-6 p.m., free, light snacks, but you have to register for it.
The bad, worst possible time for downtown traffic. When I went to the D500 launch, I had one on pre-order before I left. I'll miss happy hour at my watering hole.
The good and gooder. Hands-on with the D850!!! Get the official poop about flicker elimination, how the reduced size formats work, 12/14 bit, can I get one in red, and what freebies can I get for pre-ordering now? IT will be fun.

Same at local stores Wednesday and Thursday. Can't reach furthest store, but may try for downtown Thursday, providing temp is <100 degrees.
I have been invited to a couple of hands on and I just wait for mine to be shipped.
Also at The Photo Center in Brick NJ from 12- 7pm.

I wonder what the purpose of this event is since Nikon has already sold out their first production run.

Heavy traffic.
Snacks.
Crowds in the store.
D850.
Let us know how it turns out. Pictures, maybe? I bet they'll sell that D850 at a good price after it passes through so many hands. I'm glad they got rid of the CF slot, but it would have been nice to have two identical card slots.
B&H has not sent my invitation to Nashville yet. Wonder if they will send me a plane ticket???

Darn. I was in Toms River/Manasquan area last week. If I knew about this I would have stayed longer.

Flicker elimination is nice. My Canon has it and it often gets used at night drag races and high school sports events. Enjoy!!!
Best,
