Neat photos. I love seeing snakes around my home and the store-the non poisonous kind. We have HUGE Swamp Rats that will take over if you don't stay on top of them.

Sorry, know they do some good things, but still don't like snakes.

Nice shots. My mom would freak out is she saw a snake that close to her...she doesn't even like seeing them on Nat Geo or Animal Planet!!! (my sister has 2 snakes as pets...a California king snake and a ball python)...come to think about it, I might freak out too :)

Thanks...with all due respect to your sister.....I never have understood why someone would want a snake as a pet.

I used to hunt and catch snakes as a kid....brought a black racer in the house once (not as a pet..more to show off to my buddies) but the snake escaped in the house. My mother put a quick end to my bringing snakes inside.

Interesting shots. pets should be cuddly and huggable...can't see cuddling up to a snake.

My sister used to work at the World Bird Sanctuary (SW of St. Louis) for about 12 yrs as an educator. One of the snakes they had in the nature center/gift shop was a really long and heavy (40' or 40#) albino Burmese python. The rules were that there had to be two handlers working with the snake. I petted it once, but I wouldn't want it to 'hug' me.
