Google Sony banding. It's been noticed on the A9, but no reason to assume it is not on the entire line for high speed, high ISO settings.

I've read about it happening with the new Sony A9 when very high ISO settings are used. Maybe the A7R2 also does this.

Hopefully, a firmware update will solve this problem.

I had exactly this problem with an older Sony super-zoom. Horrible situation. Sony ultimately replaced the sensor under warranty but I was so put off I sold the camera. But, I recently bought a Sony a6000 and do not have any such problem.

Does it happen the same with every shot or just some? I have read it might be due to the light source and flicker.

This would not make me happy and I would be returning the camera or contacting Sony for a replacement. This is no due to human error.

I have an A7RII and have had no problems like this. Are you shooting silent shutter? If so there may be some issues with light pulses in artificial light. Does it do this also in daylight and incandescent light? If so you need to contact Sony. If under artificial light and using silent shutter try turning silent shutter off.

I don't understand why you shot static objects at such a high shutter speed and ISO?
