Nikon has had some very good cameras since 2015. First, it was the D7200, that is still one of the best crop sensor cameras of any camera brand. Then the D500 came along, and has been mentioned as the best crop sensor camera available today. A very good wildlife and sports camera as well. The D5 has already established its abilities. Rumors of a D5s upgrade has been floating around. The newest crop sensor, D7500, actually has superior features over the D7200, despite only having one memory SD card slot. And the newest, the full frame D850 is indeed a killer. I checked out some videos on this camera, and it is indeed impressive. And I personally believe it could qualify as a professional sports camera with the battery grip. 9 fps. Price is reasonable too. I thought it would be closer to $3800, not the listed $3296. At this price, more professional photographers will buy this camera. And profits should increase for Nikon. I'm sure Nikon must be smiling, right this minute.

Their alphabet soap of lenses now includes 'AF-P' and isn't compatible with the majority of their DSLR lineup ... how's that for maintaining their famous F-mount compatibility? And already the D750 is in the middle of a product recall ... You might want to put down your FanBoy pipe for a little while until your head clears ...

Market and consumer craziness regarding the rise of mirrorless cameras from Sony and the popularity of Smartphones replacing point and shoots made investors weary of Nikon. The D850, if it performs as anticipated, will go a long way towards rectifying this.

AF-P lenses work on ALL current Nikon's as well as 2-3 generations back on all models. Where do you get your information? Canon fanboy forums.
The D750 recall is on VERY few specific serial numbers, at least they are doing the recall and repairs for free.
Looks like your jealous bone has been struck!

Glad to see you are still as delusional as always.

It looks like the D850 is going to be a killer camera. It inherits the outstanding autofocus system of the D5 and D500. The XQD memory card will be able to transfer those large RAW files at 9fps.

Yes, at 9fps, the 850 will actually do a pretty good job of shooting sports and other action. High mp sports shots can be amazing and can be cropped. If the buffer will go pretty deep would help a lot, otherwise one will have to use a shooting style that works with the buffer.
Hopefully the 9fps is without a Q Card and battery grip?
I really thought Nikon was gonna put more mp into it since Canon is at 50!
Sounds like a great camera!

Sorry, but I have a Nikon D5100, it's all of 4 years old (I purchased it in 2013). The new AF-P lenses are not compatible with my 5100. If they were I would certainly purchase the new wide angle zoom lens. OH, WELL, I will live with what I have.

No they won't work with the D5100, but they work with the D5200, D5300, D5500 and D5600. That's 4 generations of compatibility with the D5XXX line of bodies. 3 generations of legacy compatibility prior to the current model of the line.

You're SOL if you have the current D610. I know you're a professional in terms of camera sales, MT, but you've got to admit a large population of Nikon cameras in use today by real Nikon customers are left out of the AF-P support ...

All but ONE AF-P lens is a DX crop sensor model and no one I know would buy a DX lens specifically for a D610 full frame body. The ONE AF-P full frame 70-300mm lens is definitely fully compatible with BOTH the D600 AND D610 bodies after the firmware update has been completed. Please read Nikon's compatibility info on this one lens, it's clearly outlined there.

For what I know about AF-P lenses, there were firmware updates on certain Nikon crop sensor cameras to accommodate this newer version lens.

OK ... it's a DX lens. That's the part I missed. I was incorrectly focused on all cameras, not just the DX population.

If I shot Nikon I'd be interested in the D750. There's a lot of great cameras and lenses from everyone. The D850 is an interesting mix of capability. But, I wouldn't rush out and buy stock in Nikon ...
