Whenever I spend a day at the zoo, I think of Noah's Ark and enjoy seeing some of the beasts that once came two by two aboard the ark. These images were
taken at John Ball Park in Grand Rapids. I'm always pleased to get comments and criticisms.

Annie - these are all great images - very UN-zoolike. I particularly like the very first shot of the tiger - one of the best I've ever seen. And the second one of the flamingos - outstanding artistic composition! Very fine work! /Ralph

I'm with rjay, nice work. Especially on that second flamingo shot. The composition and lighting are perfect.

Excellent downloads Annie love the variety. Especially enjoyed the pose in #1, "I'm king of the jungle".

I would have passed on the three images of the tiger and the last one of the camel. The others are fine and look like they might have been taken in the wild. I would suggest experimenting with aperture/depth of field to try to blur out the obvious fences or cages in the background of the tiger shots and any others you might shoot (photograph). Personally, I never go to zoos unless forced to by family pressures, and if I do I never take pictures. I have seen too many of these magnificent creatures in their natural environment and it depresses me to see them confined, held in an unnatural condition, and deprived of the natural life they were born to live. I appreciate that zoos permit people who can't go to where the animals live an opportunity to see them, but I give them a pass.

Thank you, deer. I posted a series on the chimpanzees several days ago (Meet Mr. Chimp) which you might enjoy. A camel ride costs $5.

Wonderful set, Annie and since I'm a cat lover, of any size, I have to go with the big fur-kitties as my favorites, but did enjoy them all!!
Thanks for taking me to the zoo with you, I had a great time seeing all the animals!!
