This was another drive that is half in Montana and half in Wyoming. This is a scenic highway that ranks for me right up there with Rocky Mountain National Park's Trail Ridge Road in Colorado and with the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier. As I drove up Beartooth, I kept thinking I must have reached the top only to find myself climbing again until finally I reached the summit. It was amazing how much snow was still up there at the end of July and in talking to another visitor along the way he indicated that he had been there last year at the same time of year when there was no where near as much snow as this year. I loved the overall ruggedness of these mountains and the lakes created by the snow melt. I hope you enjoy my view of the drive.

Due to the length of this drive and the unending scenery, I will have to split this one into multiple posts.

Great to see these photos! I am going to Yellowstone/Grand Teton in 3 weeks, and this is on our to-do list. However, I read somewhere that the road could be closed after Labor Day???? Do you know anything about that? I'd hate to miss it! Thanks!

WOW! What a beautiful place, wish I could go there some day but will never happen. I love #2 especially can feel the cool water flowing along and the super fresh air smell. Makes you feel so refreshed and alive. GOD has done good with this place. Keep up the good work and please show more. Thanks

Going to Jackson Hole during week of color--9/30-10/7. If They shut down the government possibly all the parks will close again. So tired of these sumbitches!

Thank you Steve. It really was an amazing road and the views were to die for. This was another of the suggestions made by MT Shooter as a must see.

I am glad you enjoyed these CRoy. From my experience growing up in Colorado, they do not close off the roads up in these areas right at Labor Day unless there is snow already. As long as the weather stays good you may get lucky and the road over the pass will remain open until your trip.
