A partial solar eclipse is like a grocery store parking lot carnival, cute and fun. A Total Solar Eclipse is like 4 days at Disney World with no lines! The coronal display extended at least four moon diameters beyond what my camera captured. For the scoffers, this IS a bucket list item. Everyone should see at least one "Total" Solar Eclipse from inside the shadow in their lifetime. The next Total that will cross the USA will happen in 2024. Start making plans now.

Very nice! Congratulations! I went up to Madras the day after looking for souvenirs and such. The local farmers were already busy with plows, turning "RV parks" back into farming fields!

I will be 81 by then. I don't think I'll make any plans that far in advance. I will be happy if I'm still able to take pictures at that time.

Can't remember where, but there was a chart showing the 2024 path. Best I could tell Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina will have some kind of path. The astronomers will have this all worked out.
