These photos were taken this morning 5yrs plus after the fire. still not much new growth in area, this is just west of Co Springs CO on Rampart Range Rd which starts in Garden of the Gods Park.

It's sad to see all that timber burned. If they could log it and put it to good use - that would be so much better than to have it all burn up. We are in stage 3 alerts in the whole state of Montana now with over 25 active fires burning. so very sad.

It is sad, every time it rains hard we get flash flood warning. Here's a picture with the sign up on the mountain.

We don't have to deal with the rain but we do have to deal with the avalanches come winter...they create the landslides in the burned area's around my area.

Really sad to see what that fire did to our forest. And, never, as I understand found the culprit. Thanks for driving that road and sharing your images.

It was one of my favorite hiking & photographing trails in Colorado when I lived in Castle Pine . Is it open ? I wonder if any wild flowers are back ? I whole heartedly wish the natural beauty comes back soon. Thank you for sharing. Shang
