The wild mustang range actually straddles the border of Wyoming and Montana. The Wild Mustang Center and entrance to the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area where the range is located are on the Wyoming side so we made the relatively short trip down to the center on Wednesday morning of our trip. The country in the Mustang Range was very different from what we had experienced up at Glacier but was no less beautiful. After leaving the Bighorn Canyon NRA we decided to make a big loop around and drive up through the Bighorn Mountains. Unfortunately we were rained on a large portion of the drive so I do not have as many pictures from that section of the trip. Please enjoy these images of the mustangs and other sights we saw along the way.

Thank you Steve for your nice comment. It really is big sky country up there and I found the sky to be a major player in a lot of my pictures.

Thank you Dave for your comments. The horses did look to be in pretty good shape. I do want to mention something I should have put in my initial post. I did not get close to these animals. I took all of the pictures from a distance with my Tamron 150-600mm lens and then cropped the images.
