D750 - A Total Reset

I just took my D750 out for a shoot after getting it returned from the Nikon recall a few days ago. I didn't bother to reset everything to my "likes," and it was funny having to focus with the shutter button, rather than BBF. I don't like that at all. I'll reset everything back to the way I like it. I knew it had been totally reset, but I didn't want to take the time to go through everything. Maybe I'll save the settings to an SD card, although that makes it automatic. I like going through the Menu and making decisions again.

And, of course, there's this. Maybe too much?

I just got mine back also. First outing was all about getting things back to the way they were. I know there are several posts here that give warning but having to go thru all the setups again helps the learning process for me. Next time I send in for regular service maybe I should figure out how to save settings to SD card.

I thought about saving the settings, but I'm going to take the time (I'm actually doing that right now) and go through recommendations and decide what I want.

Safe your setting in a SD, then all you have to do is to load it back.

How do you save the settings to a card? (D500) . . .

on my D750, go to setup menu, go down to "save/load settings", ok on save setting.
Its same for my D7200, it may be same for your D500.

I had the same experience, Jerry. I started to press the AE-L/AF-L button for BBF, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong at first - then remembered. So, I've also had to reset my D750 back to the way I want it.

BTW, I couldn't get over how fast the repairs were made and the camera mailed back to me -- only two weeks + two days without my camera!

Yeah. Nikon (at least the NY repair facility) seems to be doing a nice job of turnaround on these cameras. I wonder how many were affected by this last service advisory since it covered roughly a two year manufacturing period.

I got a refund back from Nikon last month for the work done earlier this year on shutter repairs. It was out of warranty and not one of those on the recall list, but Nikon decided to include it in their goodwill program and sent me a check.

Outstanding! That's the way to keep old customers and win new ones. Lord knows Nikon needs both.

Nikon did a great job on my D750. I'm very happy.

Just read another recent post (http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-480899-1.html) where that wasn't the case. Very troubling. I have one scheduled for delivery today after repair pursuant to the latest service advisory. After reviewing that post, I can only hope for the best.
