I went and checked that out. With sales tax it came to just under $1500. I can buy locally for less. I was hoping some UHH member would have a brain fart and sell me one for around $1200-$1300. I have limited funds. Thanks for the suggestions though. I will keep looking. David

It's one of Canon's best lenses. I know for myself, I won't let my copy go under any circumstances. I payed $1650 2 1/2 years ago on sale. I remember it was well over 2 thousand on release.

yep, great lens, definitely worth $1,500 new and from Canon direct. I wouldn't bother with used for a few hundred bucks less
