Cute!! I used to read The Lockhorns daily until my newspaper quit carrying it.
(Sadly) How true. We've all seen instances of wishful thinking with this, or, how should I put it, the use of the wrong app.
The Lockhorns and Crankshaft are the best, hands down.
Its dismissal was probably due was obviously due to the plague called politically correctness.

My newspaper carries it daily, though they don't put it on the comics page. It and The Plugger always show up in the classified section.

I wonder if that's true. I am not familiar with this strip - are they potentially controversial? Usually newspapers stop a regular feature due to lack of interest, or, in the case of comics, the price is, or becomes, too high to afford. I've seen several (still running elsewhere) comic strips that were not controversial on any level, but that whoever is in charge of setting the cost thinks that the strip is worth more than the paper is willing to pay. Many, if not most, newspapers no longer make much money, so the bottom line squeezes out a lot of quality material. You may notice that many magazines can be subscribed for $10 or $15 a year - cheaper than they were 10 or 20 years ago. They can afford that, because the advertising is so lucrative. I bet that low price only covers handling and mailing.
