Nearly lost my drone yesterday

I was flying along side of the Queen Mary in Long Beach, then on the other side I was taking some video of a dock when I lost connection to the drone. My controller disconnected and all I could do was hit the RTH button and hope that it would return to home. The straightest path back was right over the Queen Mary and my RTH altitude was set for 130'. I thought that was high enough but it wasn't. I'm glad the collision avoidance was working. It really saved me. Just as you see it fly over the stacks is when I saw where I was and made a slight correction to the right and pushed the stick up as fast as I could. The places where the collision avoidances occurred I was blind.

You can hear the audio as I was looking at my screen I was just chatting with someone about her Phantom 4 and how many batteries she and I each had. I was trying not to worry because I knew that it would fly home but I really thought my RTH altitude of 130' was high enough. Boy was I wrong.

At least you got it back, Bud. Those sensors have saved my bacon twice with mt P4 Pro. I was about a mile out with the camera facing out the back, on home lock, when it stopped (there was a tall tree in its path, & flying backwards, I couldn't see it). All I had to do was back away from the tree a bit, increase my height, & keep going. Without the sensors, I would have been hanging from the top of a large tree, lol.

Your drone has more sensors than the Mavic Pro. I wish the Mavic had more but at least it lived to fly another day.

No kidding. I don't want to loose my drone this way for sure.
