Kimberly, I do not know of your experience as a portraitist but some of the shots are no-no when making portraits. The last shot is a clear example with the hands of the model on his face.
Did you notice that distracting background on the first shot? The tree trunk seems to be growing from his head. Too much depth of field I would say. The same with the third shot, the background distracts.
In my humble opinion No. 5 is your best portrait. The posing is impeccable and it is the typical masculine posing.
Always think of the background in outdoor shooting first and then place your model accordingly. As you very well know most backgrounds can be blurred by selective focus on your model making for a more pleasing composition.

Number five is by far your best. Don't care for the hands on his face. Don't lose heart, you are an excellent photographer

Very nice series. The light is excellent in this series, both studio and out of doors.
