Thought you might like to see a few more...I had just gotten my new Olympus 70-300 lens and was lying in the grass waiting for my neighbor to feed them as he did every afternoon. It's been awhile.
Good food
There's more of us
Says it all
Oh how cute. We have lots of grey squirrels and the occasional red squirrel around here but I've never seen a white one.
Wow...have never seen a white squirrel....thanks for sharing!

Wow! We have mostly gray, with very few red and black, but no white ones.
Cool! I have never seen a white squirrel around here, black one either. Gray's are everywhere and an occasional Fox Squirrel but the Fox is a master at hiding and pretty hard to get.
Love these - have never seen white squirrels. We have the usual colors here, but never white. Thanks for photographing and sharing.
Very cool! We used to see one occasionally when we lived in Fletcher, but never more than one at a time!
Wow, great picture. I see the first one has dark eyes. Have you seen any with the pink eyes?

Thank you. No, they aren't albino. A circus truck overturned in FL and a man caught a male and female and brought them to his niece in Brevard, NC, about 60 years ago. One escaped and the other was turned loose. There's a white squirrel festival every year. They've spread into another county.
Olney, Illinois and Brevard, NC are the only two places in the country that have the white squirrel breed. I see that one of the posts ask if there are "pink eyes". This is a breed of its own and is not albino. Most of the squirrels in Olney have blue eyes.
Wonderful photos of the white squirrels. I really enjoy your photos of them. The caption on the last one is priceless.
