I think it may have something to do with long ago farming. I tried Google image search to no avail.

Looks like an old shelf clock. The round part on top is for the face of the clock and the bottom part for the pendulum. If it's made of wood, that might be what it is.

Yes, it's an antique clock and if the works are still intact, it's probably repairable! Sorry, now I've seen your intended post and have no idea what it is.

I think it is a part of an old scale system. Or part of the lever system that raised the drawbar on a tractor. Or it could be the escape system for Heidelberg mantle clock
