On a recent trip around Lake Superior, we stopped at the Kakabeka Falls outside of Thunder Bay, Ont. I'm pleased with these sooc pictures not because they are outstanding in any way but because they exhibit my first attempt at blurred water. I used no filters or tripod but it was late enough in the evening that shooting at f22 enabled me to capture the blur. Now I'm one step up the rung to controlling the camera and I feel good! I included some "normal" pictures for comparison. Pics 1, 3, 4 are normal. Pics 2, 5, 6 blurred. OOps something wong with number of pics but you'll figure it out.
Did you visit the Pidgeon River High Falls from the Canadian side. On their sude you can hike back behind the falls and if you go back far enough you can come to the Middle Falls. Those two falls are the reason the 17th Century fur traders had to invent the Grand Portage. All so Frenchmen and Englishmen could wear beaver hats.
No. Unfamiliar with it. We were traveling with friends who had relatives near by so could spend very little time. Beautiful area!
These are very good for hand held photos. Good job.
Yes some very nice shots thanks for posting
Thank you for your replies. Burt
Very nice set and a very steady hand. Looks great! /George
Very good set and one more step up the ladder.
Beautiful, badapple! Well done!
Great job on the blur. My preference in this case would be the unblurred shot. It highlights the turbulence of the water better. Just a matter of personal preference.
Nice work on these. I like the mushy(my term) water on #2. Don
