Rainbow in the grass

I don't usually post many pictures here and I'm not looking for a critique or edits. I saw this recently while visiting my local track. I need the exercise even if it's just walking.

So, it's about 6:30 AM. It was a cool night for summer and got down to 47F and it appeared that the field had not been mowed in that past few days. I've seen my share of rainbows but never quite like this. Anyone else seen rainbows in the grass?

The last picture might be hard to see but there were thousands of spider webs that had caught the early morning dew and I'm fairly certain these were at the root of the rainbows on the grass.

Apologies for the resolution. The only camera I had was the samsung phone, so....

Thoughts?

Very interesting. I never saw that either but I'll bet you're right about the spider webs.

No floodlights on.

And you may not have noticed but the rainbow goes at 2 separate angles from the sun depending on where you are standing.

Like it, never saw that before, though I did spot a 'cloud' bow a few days ago.

Just a possibility. If the grass was recently watered might be from droplets that happened to align. I've seen rainbows when watering the lawn if the sun was at my back. Would not think that the spider webs would all be in one plane, but the grass seems fairly smooth.

This is the High School football field and they usually keep it mowed fairly often. A day or 2 after I took these and posted on the town site they had it mowed and must have put down some more fertilizer. Haven't seen any of those spider webs since.

That was probably about as close as I'll ever get!

The excessive water on top of the grass probably caught the early morning light just right and caused a refraction, thus the rainbow. I have never seen it either. Lucky you were there to enlighten all of us to the possibility.
