I heard the cutest little sounds coming from my garden and I notice this mid sized bird chirping like a little baby.... then a little sparrow comes to the rescue!!

I'm assuming this is a baby cowbird, is that right??

I watched for a few minutes as the poor little mama kept on feeding her big baby, very touching to see.... nature is so beautiful!!!

Not the best images, but I just wanted to capture the moments...

Happy weekend!!

mama.... where are you???

Great sequence and narrative, Angela! I think you're right about it being a cow bird.

Very cute.
Too bad the junior bird is a cow bird. I guess one can't fault the child for the parents indiscretions, but then the child grows up.

I figured he was and I feel sorry for that cute little sparrow family, having to take care of this big moo moo!!!

A great story to accompany your interesting set, Angela. Birds always seem to take such good care of their young. I hope this little guy gets airborne before predators find him.

John, they were so much fun to watch and I give that little mama credit... she had such patience with him and he did fly a little, I think it was all an act that he wanted her to feed him!! We're lucky, not many predators where I live.
Glad you enjoyed the shots and their conversation!! LOL!!
