...hahaha...alrighty then: SoCal BITD...my *final* street machine before moving down, literally, to TR-3's was a '63 Falcon Panel truck with a dual-quad Goat motor...straight tube Henry J front end, Munsey close-ratio 4 speed and some tall gearing in the rear end. Only lasted 6 months, but *what* a 6 months that was!

I had a 1965 GTO with four on the floor, tri power, 389hp, that would sing like a sowing machine. Best car I ever had. Never had a problem with it. So sorry I sold it for a later model GTO that was gutless. 😩

Had a friend and working partner who had a 1965 Pontiac GTO, one of the fastest cars I ever rode in. It finished second at the Pomona winter nationals only because he missed a shift.☹️ The car came from the factory with a 421 super duty dual Quad Pontiac engine and 4 on the floor, COPO, FX. Those were the days! My friend.

Yeh! They were slower, unless you were lucky to have one of the five Ram Air IV Pontiac 400 ci GTOs with a four barrel and they were faster. Even faster was a 69 Pontiac Trans Am with a Ram Air IV 400 ci unless you were fortunate enough to get a Royal Pontiac 421 Super Duty HO in your 65 GTO. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜‹

You have that right. I was behind a car today, first thinking it was a new Chevy or Ford. Getting close enough to read the emblem on the hatch, I read the word Maserati.
