I have a Nikon F with a Photomic FTN on it. Can I put M42 lens on that camera. I known can't put Canon on it. Also I looking for lens for my Nikon, all I am finding is lenses for digital cameras. I known that lenses for that camera are out there, But I can not find them.

Not without an adaptor

Now for Nikon, you will need the adapter with a lens in it (1.4 magnification) in order to get infinity focus but it will mount but there will be additional glass. This is not an issue with Canon as the M42 will mount and focus to infinity with out any additional optics to make corrections to get infinity.

Pretty cheap HERE.
Caveats:
-To achieve infinity focus, it has a corrective lens element that boosts the focal length by 1.4x.
How sharp that will be is up for consideration.
-No automatic diaphragm- meaning you have to manually stop down to shooting aperture.

$25? I say go for it!

And you can put older Canon FD lenses on your Nikon with THIS ADAPTER .

(Architect types faster...)

You are right, I misread this. But the Canon lens also requires a glass element to mount on a Nikon camera.
PS Nikon lenses work beautifully on EOS cameras with an adapter with no glass element required as well. In fact you would be surprised how many different lenses work beautifully on the EOS cameras with an adapter that does not have a glass element.

Here's a Link Quinn I did a search on KEH for used lenses, and this is what they came up with.

Yep- for infinity focus, you can't get around that correction lens for putting just about anything not meant for a Nikon on a Nikon...except larger format lenses.

Where do you look? There are lots of Nikon lenses that work with your camera on Ebay and KEH.

Perhaps the OP has available M42 mount lenses.

I thought most Nikon lenses could be used on most Nikon cameras, so most "lenses for digital cameras" should work on your camera?

OP seems to have eliminated consideration of all "lenses for digital cameras"

Not the G lenses unless you use them at smallest aperture.
You need an aperture ring on the lens to control it.
Here is a trick I found-https://petapixel.com/2015/10/08/tip-you-can-use-nikkor-g-lenses-on-nikon-film-slrs-with-a-piece-of-string/.

So, film camera bodies cannot control the aperture?

"G" lenses don't have an aperture ring?
