Greetings! I have 18-55 and 55-300 Nikon lenses I use with my D7200. I'm thinking of going to an 18-300 and wonder about the two Nikons and the Sigma in that range. Any advice/experiences will be welcome! FYI, I do a lot of landscape and wildlife work and have some other lenses, too. I'm looking to reduce my load for travel by going to one zoom. Thanks!

I use the Nikkor 18-300 on both a D7200 and D500. I'm happy with it.

Ps--which Nikkor do you use, the f3.5-5.6 or the f3.5-6.3?

The f3.5-6.3. It was a weight thing. Bad knees, bad hip.

Remember, the 2014 18-300mm Nikkor is 10oz lighter than the 2012 version. My daughter has one and loves it.

Up until 2008 I had several lenses for my landscape and wildlife work. Then I switched to just the Tamron 28-300. It served me very well for 9 years. This year I discarded the old 2008 lens and went to two Tamron lenses, the 18-300 and the 150-600 G2. The 18-300 is my daily walkaround lens and the 150-600 is my Zoo/SeaWorld/Wildlife Refuge/Sanctuary/Boondocks lens. Extraordinarily happy with both of them.

Learn to use what you have. You will use this one and leave the others home. What a waste of money.

Actually, I've used the others extensively for years, all over the world. I'm simply interested in trading two for one and wondering what people's experiences are with the 18-300s.

I had the kit 18-55 and 55-200 . . . I got a Tamron 18-270 to replace them both and have been very happy with it. It stays on my camera about 95% of the time. I have 2 bodies (D5500 and D500) . . . As soon as I save enough $, I'll probably get the new Tamron 18-400 . . .
