On our recent trip to Montana my daughter and I spent a couple of days in Glacier National Park. It was a 6 1/2 hour drive from Billings where we were staying so we spent the night at the East Village after driving up in the morning. We stopped for lunch and to fill the car with gas in Choteau and I thought the Teton County courthouse there was very photogenic. We arrived at the East Village early in the afternoon and had plenty of time to do some exploring at the Two Medicine Lake area of Glacier.I hope you enjoy these images from the first day of our Glacier trip.

Very nicely done. It's good to see photos by someone who's really thinking about composition. There's someone else on this site who just walks around taking snap shots and wants people to lavish praise on him.

We went there last year in September in between snowstorms and stayed at East Glacier for three days. We spent a couple of hours at Two Medicine between rain showers, a day on Going to the Sun Road, and a day at Many Glacier. Your photos make me want to go back, but maybe a little earlier in the season. We only left because GTS Road was closed the fourth day we were going to be there, and more snow was coming over the mountain.

Thank you CO for your positive comments. I take a lot of pride in the quality of my images and knowing I don't have days to sit in the same spot waiting for the "right moment" in terms of light and other elements, I work a scene taking many shots all the while working out in my head how I will pp the images for best effect. What you see here is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what I have shot.

Thank you Photonovo for your comments. I know that I will work out a way to get back there again as well. This was a beautiful time of year to go but oh so crowded. We could not find anywhere to park at Logan Pass so missed some things I would have liked to capture. Stay tuned as I will be posting more from Glacier. I haven't even gotten to our drive over the GTS Road.

Beautiful landscapes, Andrea! The downloads are awesome. I studied the two falls shots. From the thumbnails I thought I preferred the faster shutter speed but once I looked at the larger versions, I really loved the slow shutter speed shot.

Thank you Carol for stopping in for a look and the really nice comments. I have not yet decided which of the falls shots I prefer. One of them is going to become a candidate for going on the wall.

Very enjoyable set of images of Glacier for sure. I just noted in the paper that the park set a record of 1 million visitors during the month of July. My wife and I attempted to drive into the park in July but because of construction up to Avalance Creek campground, we turned around and left the park. The traffic was crazy. We generally prefer to go to the park in the spring and fall. Thanks for sharing your images.
